Who We Are

CRAFT is part of Actually Data / Actually Data Analytics.
Our website address is: https://actuallydata.net/craft

We provide training, tools and community spaces to help charities use data with confidence.

Comments

When you leave a comment on the site, we collect the information shown in the comment form, along with your IP address and browser user-agent. This helps us spot and prevent spam.

If you use Gravatar, an anonymised hash of your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to confirm you’re using their profile. Their privacy policy is available at: https://automattic.com/privacy/

Once your comment is approved, your profile picture (if you have one) will be visible with your comment.

Media Uploads

If you upload images to the site, please avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Other visitors could download those images and extract that information.

Cookies

We use standard WordPress cookies to make the site work smoothly.

  • If you leave a comment, you can choose to save your name, email and website in a cookie for convenience. These last for one year.
  • If you visit the login page, we set a temporary cookie to check whether your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is removed when you close your browser.
  • When you log in, we set cookies to save your login details and screen preferences. Login cookies last two days; screen-options cookies last a year. Selecting “Remember Me” keeps you logged in for two weeks. Logging out removes login cookies.
  • If you edit or publish an article, a cookie will store the post ID of the article you edited. It doesn’t contain personal data and expires after one day.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Some pages may include embedded content (such as videos, articles or images). Embedded content behaves exactly as if you visited the site it comes from.

These third-party sites may collect data about you, use cookies, or track your interaction with their content — especially if you’re logged into their platform.

Who We Share Your Data With

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email automatically.

We do not sell or pass on your data for marketing.

How Long We Keep Your Data

  • Comments: Comments and their metadata are stored indefinitely. This helps us recognise approved commenters and reduce moderation queues.
  • User Accounts: If you set up an account (for courses or the forums), we store the personal information you provide in your user profile.
You can view, edit or delete your information at any time — except your username. Site administrators can also access this information when needed for support.

Your Rights

If you have an account or have left comments, you can request:

  • A copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • That we delete the data we hold about you

This excludes information we must keep for administrative, legal or security purposes.

To make a request, just contact us at [insert contact email].

Where Your Data Is Sent

Visitor comments may be checked via an automated spam-detection service to help keep the community safe.
